Photography for Upanayana Ceremony in Coimbatore: At right earnest, Kishorenath sir & Dr. Alakanandha started their search for a proper Photography team for their Grandson Vivek Krishna Murti’s Upanayana Function. They are living in Toronto, Canada. But the function is to be held in Coimbatore. They have their roots in Bengaluru.
They were confused on whether to choose a team from Bangalore or Coimbatore. Luckily for us, they found that Team Baba Studio has covered a number of Upanayana ceremonies both in Bengaluru and Coimbatore. They thought that we are the right fit.
When Mr. Kishorenath talked to us, we explained about our three decades of upanayanam photography expertise. He was happy that he has found the right Upanayana photography team for his Grandson’s Upanayana Vaibhav.
Vivek Krishna Murti’s Upanayana Function: Now that Team Baba Studio got the Upanayana Photography Assignment, we immediately set the ball rolling.
Save the date video: As always, we started with the ‘Save the date’ Video. First impressions go a long way.. And we did make a good impression here.
The Venue: Ananya’s Naana Naani Phase -3 was the Venue for this lovely ceremony. Mr. Vittal Krishna Murti was very particular that His Uncle Madvesh & Aunt Subhangi should be preside over the ceremony. And the Venue had a lovely temple, having sannithis’ for Lord Maha Ganapathi, Lord Hanuman, Lord vishnu.. And The Upanayana was planned near the Maha ganapathi shrine.
Naandhi ritual: First to come was the Naanthi ritual. Our team did a good job taking nice photos of the ritual. The ritual ended with the ‘Abishekam’. Vivek had a holy bath. Then the ‘Guardian thread or Kaapu’ was done. The Day 1 rituals were complete.
It is Family photo time: The Udhagasanthi photography session was followed by Family portraits photshoot. We suggested to Vivek’s Mom Dr. Swiya Murti about having a portaits photography session. She readily accepted. We made the first family happy with some lovely family pictures.
Candid photoshoot time: Guests from Far of places have come to Be a part of the Upanayana Ceremony & Bless the Vatu. It was a great Get together. Relatives who where seeing each other over video calls were seeing one another in person after a very long time. Fun flowed, Love Lingered, tales of yesteryears retold. And our Camera’s feasted on those lovely candid moments.
Arts Eve: Amidst the busy Upanayana Programme, Dr. Alakananda found time to arrange for an “evening of cultural events” . Ananya Phase 3 had a lovely auditorium.This was the chosen venue for the Cultural evening. The Evening started with Chanting of Mantras by Vivek Krishna Murti. The Knowledgeable audience were stunned by his proficiency in Sanskrit. And Later the evening was an art lovers delight with Bharatanatyam, Flute and Veena to feast upon.
Great Upanayanam Photography moments: Vikas and Vivek are brothers. These young and energetic boys gave an electric feel to the venue. They were keen and observant at times. Sometimes they were playful. At times, a bit aloof. Whatever the mood, it was a feast for our team of Photographers and Cinematographers. Those lovely photographs will certainly add beauty to the Album.
Upanayana Brahmopadesa Muhurtham: Though the Brahmopadesam was to be held between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, the preliminary rituals started around 6:30AM onwards. Some sort of spiritual aura spread in the venue. The chanting of mantra’s added more to the mood. The Sacred thread was let to adorn Vivek by 8:30AM. He has graduated from a boy to an adult. He is a Brahmachari now. He will start his pursuit of spiritual knowledge. And with all humility, we were doing our Upanayana photography job.
And now it is time for his maternal uncles to carry him on their shoulders, sing and dance and celebrate. It was done with gaiety. With all fanfare, Vivek reached the stage for his Brahmopadesam ritual.
Back to Spirituality, again: With the fun and feasting done, it was again spiritual. With traditional music and silent prayers of the elders, Vivek underwent Brahmopadesam at the dot of 10:12AM. Our Upanayana Photography team humbly thanked the almighty. God has allowed us to be a part of yet another great Upanayanam function.
Gifts Galore: Then it is Family get together and chit-chat all over. Having great meals and snacks, Friends and family started bonding. As stated earlier, they haven’t met each other in many years. Wherever there was a chance to get a good photo, we captured it. After all that’s what we are good at. Vivek was showered with gifts. But it is their Presence and Blessings that made Mr. Vittal and Dr.Swiya most Happy.
The Group Photo session: During the preliminary discussions itself, Dr.Swiya made her wishes very clear. She was very particular about guest’s family photo with Vivek. So after the busy session of rituals were over, we made quick arrangements for the group photos. No one was missed out. All families photographed. Mission completed.
An excellent Upanayanam Album: Without the cooperation of Vivek and ofcourse Vikas, this Album wouldn’t have come out so beautifully. The spicing up was taken care by Vikas, we should admit. They were a candid photographer’s delight. And the support from Mrs. & Mr. Vittal Krishna Murti was immense. And all this wouldn’t have been possible without Beloved Subhangi Aunty and Mr. Madvesh. They took care of every small details and made sure the Upanayana Ceremony goes on smoothly. Thanks to all of them, for helping us bring out an excellent Upanayana Photography photobook.
Next… Vikas Krishna Murti’s Upanayana?: Will it be Vikas’s Upanayana or in some other happy occasion? But pretty sure, Baba Studio will meet our beloved clients in the near future. Till Then Thanks a Lot to everyone.
