Excellent use of lighting: Playing with light is the essence of Photography. The light and shadow should tell the story by itself. We use only soft lighting for all the Upanayanam Photography assignments. And we always make good use of the Ambient light of the venue to our advantage. It is non-intrusive and also adds a great look to the photograph.
Composing great photos is an Art: Like a great piece of music, we too make great pictures. It is all about composing. The difference is , we do it on the go. Only because we give a great deal of thought and effort in this part, we end up with excellent looking photographs. Does the Artifact in the background add charm to this photo? Bring it into the frame. The Life sized lamp in front of the stage.. Is that a distraction? Avoid it in the frame. Thats how great photos are composed.
Photographing from unexpected angles: When the ‘Bathing in holy water’ ritual takes place, why not place the camera beneath the flow of water? An excellent angle isn’t it? It would add a great deal of drama to that photo.
Choosing the right Equipment: Not all Cameras can be placed under flowing water. So the next important thing is to select the right camera for the occasion. A water proof GoPro would have been the right selection for the above said photograph.
